Born in Suva, Fiji |

When she was eight Meghna’s family moved from Fiji to California.  She spent the rest of her childhood and adolescence there, met a man named Jason, and together they returned to Fiji where they married. The couple then decided to move to Toronto to start a new life together. Meghna had always dreamt of coming to Canada, and today she describes herself as a proud Torontonian. Currently she is on maternity leave taking care of her baby Anya who is nine months old but Meghna plans to return soon to her job as the Campus Administrator for Trillium College.

Toronto as Home

Sugar Beach, on Lake Ontario, is a place that triggers memories for Meghna. Even when it is winter there is still a beach-like feel here with the sun umbrellas and beach chairs. She explains how, in Fiji, family and friends would often go to the beach for picnics and how, on their honeymoon, she and Jason sat on the deck, drinking and looking out together over the calm seas.

Connection with the Past

Meghna is holding her wedding album. That day in Fiji, when she was able to marry the man she loved, was the most special of occasions. This cherished album is full of warm, loving  and unforgettable memories.
